What it's like
Swedish modern sets the tone in the guestrooms, warmed up by fun, plush elements like chocolate brown alpaca-covered headboards. Select suites have wainscoting and other design elements recalling the building’s 1920’s origins. Bathrooms have a sleek, European feel: cool, Icelandic blue predominates; showers are tiled in glass.
The fitness room is small but well-stocked with cardio machines, weights, and little flat-screen TV’s to keep you entertained. On a note consistent with the thoughtful overall design, the ice machines are noiseless, leather clad cabinets.

About the design
Huge maple wood bookcases, dark wood timber beams overhead, and Swan chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen give the living room a warm, relaxed sophistication. Stylish, deep armchairs face tall windows looking onto the street – so you can stay warm inside and watch the passersby.
Eat and drink
Lola is run by Tom Douglas, a Seattle chef famous for his cookbooks and restaurants. The menu marries classic Greek flavors with Northwest ingredients: try Washington King Salmon with Tender Herbs and Marcona Almonds. Room service is available. Tom Douglas’s landmark Dahlia Lounge and Dahlia Bakery are right across the street – convenient if you’re up for his Triple Coconut Cream Pie for breakfast.
Assaggio's menu is Italian. Chef Golmarvi chooses the fish at the Pike Place Market each morning, and there's a particularly good selection of Italian red wines.
