A stately structure rising above St. Louis’s Central West End, the Chase Park Plaza was born during the Jazz Age and hit its stride during the Big Band ‘50s, hosting a roster of legendary guests such as Billie Holiday, Dean Martin, and Tony Bennett. A late-1990s renovation restored the hotel’s original glamour, but with a distinctly nouvelle flair.
Forest Park and all its attractions are right across the street, but guests may have to pry themselves away from all that the hotel has to offer, including a five-screen cinema and a seasonal outdoor pool, set amid carved stone porticos and sculptures, with plush patio furniture and a stone fireplace.
