The California Mission façade of this historic inn fronts a central courtyard; rooms open onto the green lawn and mature magnolia trees. Ricky's restaurant serves smoked rib eye (check out the smoker in front of the inn) and a good wine list; dine in the loftlike dining room or outdoors by the pool. It's an optimal vacation set-up: kids swim and play while parents enjoy fine dining.
The inn earned its green credentials with environmentally-sensitive touches like bamboo floors in the rooms and plant-based cleaning products. Your dog or cat is welcome: the fee is $20 dollars for 6 days and there's plenty of space to romp.
Family-run home-base for extended stay or a short trip to wine country
If you're inspired by the great chefs of Napa and Sonoma, there's a communal kitchen with a Wolf range for guests to use.
Rickey's Restaurant & Bar serves comfort food, Marin style: meat from the smoker or the grill, plenty of vegetable dishes, local wines and a full bar. A jazz combo plays in the corner on weekend nights.
For meetings and events, the one acre lawn can be strung with lanterns, creating a magical effect under the stars. There's also a 1,200 sq. ft. Garden Room. Fair trade and organic coffee is served and vegan options for breakfast are available.
