Historic inn becomes designer’s dream
Stonehurst Place was owned by generations of the same Atlanta family for almost 100 years, and the fine bones of the original structure now house jewel-box pretty rooms and design treats like Sarfatti lamps, a Vintage Verner Panton chair in 1971 orange, and a vintage Hermes handbag collection. The walls are filled with art from owner Barb Shadomy’s sophisticated collection: look for Candida Hoefer, Andy Warhol, and Nan Goldin.
The modern-chic flair is nicely balanced by soothing Southern touches, like the sleeping porch, and English-style flower-beds in the gardens. Take time to soak up the beauty of the inn on the sitting porches, or in the music sitting room.

Stonehurst Place is in Midtown Atlanta, near the World Congress Center, the Georgia Aquarium, and the Georgia Dome. MARTA, Atlanta’s public transportation system, is just four blocks away.
