What it's like

At Harlow Hotel, history feels lived in, not just preserved. Founded by Captain John Harlow, a Maine sea captain turned Oregon entrepreneur, the hotel began as a welcoming stop for rail travelers and has evolved alongside the city ever since. Over the decades, it has shifted roles and gathered stories within its walls, including a chapter in the early 20th century when Japanese American proprietors helped shape both the hotel and the surrounding neighborhood. That layered past now shows up in the hotel's atmosphere, with rich textures, thoughtful details, and inviting spaces.

A hotel with stories to tell.

Small touches

Each of the 25 guestrooms features a unique layout shaped by the building's historic bones. Original doors and trim have been carefully restored, highlighting the craftsmanship of another era, while interiors mix crushed velvet, geometric headboards, and natural metals for a look that feels layered and distinctive. Every room includes a private bathroom, a rare luxury in a historic building, complete with heated towel racks, oversized showerheads, and polished chrome fixtures. Views look out over either the hotel's quiet courtyard or the nearby North Park Blocks and the Pearl District. Just beyond the courtyard, a 24-hour fitness center makes it easy to move at your own pace.

Eat and drink

Just off the lobby, the Café & Lounge offers a relaxed space to start the morning or wind down in the evening. Espresso flows late into the day, joined by light bites, signature drinks, and local beer and cider on tap. The 24-hour lounge space invites you to settle in, whether that means catching up on work at a bar-style seat or sinking into a couch by the fire. When you're ready to head out, some of the Pearl District's most celebrated restaurants and bars are only steps away.
