What it's like

A stay at Hotel Leo comes with a little old-school grandeur and plenty of room to wander. Follow the historic hallways to the library for billiards, settle into a quiet corner with a book, or find the private theater that gives the hotel its wink of old-Hollywood drama. The whole place feels polished but playful, with enough character around every corner to make exploring part of the fun.

Small touches

Accommodations range from historic rooms with vintage character and original tile bathrooms to modern studios and full-kitchen suites, each with thoughtful yet elevated in-room comforts. Canine companions are welcome too, with food and water dishes ready for their stay. From there, the rest of the hotel gives everyone a few places to roam. The Library invites guests to borrow a book, sip a glass of wine beside the fireplace, or shoot a round of billiards. The Social Lounge keeps things lively with shuffleboard and space to gather, while the Clark Gable Theater adds a cinematic little surprise named for one of the Leopold's famous past guests. There's also a multi-room fitness center for stretching, cardio, and strength training.

Eat and drink

Amendment 21 brings a little Prohibition-era mischief to Hotel Leo with craft cocktails, local brews, fine wines, and a menu of shareable bites. Set in the hotel's upper lobby, the lounge nods to the original Leopold's cocktail-era past while keeping things easy, social, and very downtown Bellingham. Sip, snack, stay awhile, or take the good stuff upstairs for a cozy night in. Just outside the hotel, downtown Bellingham adds plenty more to the menu, from casual cafes and coffee shops to breweries and cocktail spots.
