Your Lake Huron home away from home.
Set right on the shores of Lake Huron, Breakers Resort and Beach Bar reflects the warmth of family tradition as St. Ignace's only beachfront hotel. Family-owned and refreshingly down to earth, this lakeside hideaway settles into an easy rhythm of mornings with lake views, afternoons on the sand, and evenings shaped by sunsets.
A little piece of paradise.
Since 2004, the Brown family has shaped this waterfront retreat with the kind of care that comes from three generations in the business. The original 1950s building has grown into something much larger, but the intimate, welcoming spirit remains. From private balconies, Lake Huron stretches out in the morning light, with Mackinac Island rising in the distance. The whole place hums with that rare combination of coastal ease and genuine warmth.
Local art. Personal touches. Lasting memories.
Every room and suite boasts original artwork by Tricia Verhelle Brown, whose whimsical paintings of Mackinac Island gazebos and gardens help define each room's vibrant color scheme. Nearly all of the 100 guestrooms feature private beachfront balconies or patios, where you can watch the sunrise over Mackinac Island with morning coffee. Sink into pillow-top mattresses after days spent on the beach, then relax in the heated indoor pool when Lake Huron's waters feel a little too brisk.
The Club is St. Ignace's only hotel waterfront restaurant, serving chef-inspired dishes alongside handcrafted cocktails, premium wines, and local brews. The New England-inspired space flows from elegant indoor dining to relaxed beachside seating, where lake breezes accompany every bite. When something more casual sounds right, head to Breakers Beach Bar for wood-fired pizza and craft cocktails.
