Tubac Golf Resort & Spa

Find serenity beneath the Santa Ritas.

Granted by the Spanish Crown in 1789, this land sustained the Otero family's cattle ranch for nearly 150 years. Today, Tubac Golf Resort & Spa honors that heritage with hacienda-style casitas, a 27-hole championship golf course, a spa inspired by desert botanicals, and meals celebrating the region's agricultural bounty.

The Southwest as it was meant to be experienced.

What it's like

The entrance archway still bears the Otero Ranch name from its cattle-running days. When this land became a resort in 1959, the ranching spirit stayed. Thick adobe walls keep rooms naturally cool, and wide porches invite morning coffee and long conversations. The golf course, featured in the film Tin Cup, winds through former grazing land. Mountains surround you on all sides. Here, you'll fall into the desert's slower rhythm, where peaks mark time better than any clock.

Small touches

Hacienda-style rooms feature leather furnishings, fireplaces, and patios overlooking mountains or the 27-hole championship course. PGA professionals offer lessons at the practice facility, while the 3,000-square-foot spa provides botanical treatments, a eucalyptus steam room, and a garden courtyard. As the day winds down, relax by the pool or gather around the crackling outdoor fireplace with a drink in hand, watching the Santa Ritas shift from gold to deep rose.

Eat and drink

Stables Ranch Grille anchors the culinary experience with Southwestern dishes that blend traditional flavors and contemporary techniques. Locally sourced ingredients shape the seasonal menu. The Bar at Stables offers a more casual setting with wrap-around seating and horse-saddle bar stools that nod to the property's ranching past. La Cantina serves quick bites with views across the fairways.
