Many families of college students will be heading to college towns across the country for visits during homecoming and parents’ weekends (not to mention four years of pickups and drop-offs), but choosing a hotel often involves a trade-off.  Larger brands typically offer guests loyalty rewards programs that garner valuable points for stays, but smaller, independent hotels may be more convenient and closer to campus.  Stash Hotel Rewards, a point-based rewards program for independent hotels, recently announced that more than 70 independent hotels in the United States located on or near college campuses are now part of its loyalty program.

WebRezPro Cloud Property Management System Automates the Management of Stash Hotel Rewards for Independent Hotels

WebRezPro PMS worked in conjunction with Stash Hotel Rewards and Charlestowne Hotels to develop the automated solution, enabling WebRezPro to send Charlestowne’s guest stay data to Stash Rewards immediately upon check-out. Previously, hotel staff were required to create and export nightly reports which contain information needed to award guests with Stash points. The new interface saves independent hoteliers time and expense by eliminating traditional reporting processes, allowing them to focus on other areas of the business.

Independents adapt loyalty program offerings

Denihan’s Affinia Hotel Collection was one of the first independent hotel collection to join Stash Hotel Rewards, an independent hotel rewards program that awards members five points per dollar of revenue in exchange for free hotel stays. Hotel at WaterWalk joins rewards program

Hotel at WaterWalk has joined a program that allows its customers to earn points, allowing it to compete with larger hotel chains’ rewards programs.  Steve Butcher, asset manager for Consolidated Holdings, the company that owns the 88-suite hotel at 711 S. Main, said the partnership with Stash Hotel Rewards will give the hotel a competitive lift among guests who like to stay in independently owned hotels but don’t because of the absence of a rewards program.
