What it's like
Take a ride at the Carousel Bar: the room really spins, but slowly enough for you to enjoy your bourbon. A shooting star passes across the ceiling from time to time.The rooms have been recently refurbished: bathrooms with marble floors and granite countertops provide a modern counterpoint to the French country upholstery.

Fido and Fifi are welcomed - an unusual benefit at a Louisiana hotel. They'll get food and water bowls, treats, and a map of dog-friendly spots in the city (fees apply). Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Eat and drink
Carousel Bar has been taking luminaries from Tennessee Williams to Michael Jordan for a ride since 1949. It's voted the No. 1 hotel bar in New Orleans by Gambit Weekly.
Note: from June to November 2011 the restaurant will be closed for renovations. Carousel Bar will still be open. For your convenience, an enhanced FREE continental breakfast will be offered to our guests, 24 hour Room Service will be available and our “small plates” offering in the Carousel Bar will be available for patrons from noon – 6 p.m. Our pool bar, Acqua Bella, will continue to offer food service as well as a myriad of tropical beverages.
