Desert twilight at the pool

~ Martinis and bikinis: Early 1960s glamour lives again at this sybaritic desert retreat ~

Palm Springs glamour redux

Once a haunt of Sinatra and Martin and a favorite hideout for Elvis Presley, the redesigned Riviera swings again with updated, early Sixties cool. The Starlite Lounge is an orgy of warm fabrics, crimson shag, and gold tufted sofas. A giant billiards table and local legend Abie Perkins on the piano complete the vibe.

Mere minutes from downtown Palm Springs, the Riviera Palm Springs is a renovation of the original 1959 hotel, featured in the 1963 film “Palm Springs Weekend.”
