Desert Flower Hotel

Find peace in New Mexico.

Once a forgotten roadside motel, this seven-room sanctuary was lovingly brought back to life by a family who believed in its potential and transformed it into the Desert Flower Hotel. Their vision lives on in the fruit trees they planted, the restored adobe walls, and the local art layered into each room with intention.

The desert doesn't rush, so neither should you.

What it's like

Desert Flower Hotel is where meaning grows wild. The adobe walls hold warmth from generations past, while hand-chosen art and storytelling textures breathe life into every space. Just beyond your door, the Sangre de Cristo Mountains keep quiet watch. Though the hotel sits just minutes from the bustle of Taos Plaza, its quiet location feels worlds away. Taos is a sacred place, and Desert Flower invites you to take some of that sacredness home.

Independent spirit

Where the skies are big and the muffins are the best you've ever had.

Small touches

Every room here feels like a sanctuary. Local artwork meets hand-screened wallpaper. Soaking tubs made of copper offer quiet restoration. The textures and tones create a sense of rooted calm. Even the light seems more patient here, falling across textured walls like a soft invitation to slow down. Some rooms are whimsical, others grounding. But all of them give you room to breathe.

Eat and drink

Breakfast is a ritual worth waking up for. Each morning includes eggs from the property's own hens and muffins baked fresh by the owner, with the blueberry variety earning the most rave reviews from guests. Ingredients are either grown onsite or sourced nearby, connecting your plate to the land. Afterward, wander to a nearby winery or uncover a hidden gem in town. The flavors of Taos are quiet, but they linger.
