Crabbing, paddling, golfing, cruising, mountain biking—these are a fraction of the fun goings-on at Sebasco’s 550 acre oceanfront campus. Once a place for city folk to summer (along with their maids and nannies), the resort offers the freedom, natural beauty and endless outdoor recreation to bust the boredom of anyone (teenagers included). And there’s even a spa (of course).
Rooms run from cozy to luxurious in the lodges and cottages that dot the grounds. A stay in the non-operational lighthouse offers spectacular views from the top floor promenade. Daytime attractions include the Olympic-sized saltwater pool, and Ruth, a vintage tour boat, boarding sightseers or “pirates”, depending on the hour.
Coastal fun for everyone
Sebasco operates a kids’ camp, Camp Merritt, every summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Activities include live animal visits, scavenger hunts, golf and tennis clinics and plenty of pool and playground shenanigans.
Enjoy breathtaking views at the upscale Pilot House, or try pub-like Ledges. And don’t miss the on-site ice cream shop.
A popular place for family reunions, Sebasco offers weekly informal get-togethers, including blueberry pancake breakfasts and downhome Sunday “suppahs”.
