These white sand beaches and verdant hills were settled in the 1700's—the landmark stone sugar mill on the property dates from sugar plantation days. Sunbathe or set sail for Buck Island Reef for diving or snorkeling. Indulge in an end-of-day massage, then watch the stars come out overhead while you dine on filet mignon with wine from the Wine Specatator Award–winning cellar at The Terrace.
The Great House looks out over the sea from its hilltop perch; the view of the lights of Christiansted coming on at night is especially lovely. The cool, marble-tiled Doubloon rooms open onto the beach or sit just above it. Family run for 50 years, this resort excells in service: ice buckets are refilled twice a day and your room is stocked with fresh flowers.
400 years of history—and luxury that lets you lose track of time

On the sand next to the waves at sunset, or in the historic Sugar Mill: The Buccaneer offers idyllic Caribbean settings plus an expert events team for weddings and meetings.
Our most popular room category, the spacious Oceanfronts are perched above the shore between Grotto and Mermaid Beaches. They sport distinctive 16-foot high wood ceilings and picture windows that frame magnificent sea views. Each room has a sitting area, and a stone patio that fronts the sea below.
Just a minute's walk to either beach, these rooms offer the advantage of optionally connecting to another to accommodate families requiring two or more rooms. Favored by guests who enjoy the sound of the surf.
Located on the hillside between the Great House and the beaches, each suite has a patio that fronts a spacious lawn and sea views, a master bedroom with king bed and twin size window seat bed. A second room has two twin beds. The two bedrooms share one bath.
Available for families with children only, offering privacy, location and value.
Slightly larger than the Great House Mountain View rooms, these second-floor rooms provide magnificent views of the Caribbean Sea and Christiansted Harbor.
Named for the gold Spanish coins that washed up on the beach from sunken galleons, the Doubloons are the newest and largest of our accommodations. Located on the East side of beautiful Mermaid Beach, these private and luxurious villa-style accommodations have sitting areas with picture windows and marbled floors, patios and balconies with dramatic views of the sea and Christiansted Harbor.
Each oversized room can interconnect through the patio or balcony to another Doubloon, and offers guests the option of ground floor convenience or second floor privacy. Fine furnishings, walk-in closets, spectacular baths with whirlpool tubs and separate showers make these rooms a favorite for honeymoon guests.
Sitting on the highest ridge adjacent to the Great House, these well-appointed rooms feature a sitting area and large patio.
Rooms have marble or Italian porcelain floors; some have whirlpool baths. Conveniently located near the Sugar Mill and Great House.
