Committed to connecting their corner of the world to curious travelers, historians, and adventurers, the owners of the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad purchased the Grand Imperial Hotel in 2015 and embarked on an extensive restoration project. Today, the Grand Lady of the San Juan Mountains stands as proud and opulent as the day it first opened in 1883.
With an ornate tin-tile ceiling, a widespread antique mantel, ragtime piano entertainment, and bartenders in bodices, the vibe at The Grand Restaurant and Saloon is decidedly old-timey. Menu items include traditional pub fare and a few local delicacies—think Rocky Mountain oysters (but don't think too hard about them).
